Metallica Riffs.....

I'm a beginner guitarist and I was needing some fairly simple metallica riffs. Or even maybe some riffs from other bands that rocked. Thanks for the help you all have given me in the past!

I think its safe to say most heavy metal players prefer humbuckers and a high gain amp, but you can play anything with any guitar. For fun I often run my tele through one of the high gain Marshall models on my tonelab and it sound just fine. And yes, sometimes a pluck out some Metallica too.

I will say though, although they are one trick ponies as far as I'm concerned, a les paul sounds a lot better when whaling on some high gain power chords. There's something more satisfying to it, maybe just more familiar...

Not to hi-jack this thread but.... I play Tele's and my main amp is a Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier (Road King). My main guitar is a Pink Paisley, how do you think that looks playing Metallica?? Tele's sound better at this than a Strat IMO. The other guitarist in my band went one step further and put humbuckers in his tele and plays harder stuff that puts most "rock" guitars to shame.

yeah. I figure if a strat can be metal, then so can a tele. one isn't that much older than the other. they're both from the 50's.
