Those look great! Thanks again for letting my piggy back on your order.
The Gretsch awaits its new headstock logo :)
I'm sure I'll be placing an order for a sheet that should last me a long time.

FYI, you can do a free 30 day trial of Illustrator.

This got me trying to come up with a new logo... Hmm...

They surely can't work ONLY with illustrator files. They must also be able to work off PDFs, JPEGs etc. I'll ask them when they get back to me.

    Nice thread, thanks for posting.
I had a little "chat" a while back with our JFellow.
Jonathan gave me all the info about the shipping and communication with that company and definitely one of my future plans then, but now I see it again I think that the future is now.:D

I don't think they do water slide decals.

Inkscape seems like it might be a great, free alternative to Illustrator.

I just installed Inkscape on my Mac to check it out and it seems like it's cool as a free alternative to Illustrator. Not sure which file format the company will take but seems like it will export vector files which I'm sure they can use.

Yes, the website did say PDFs, JPG etc were all good. All they need to be able to do is make a crisp clean negative essentially. Illustrator is what I used, but only because I work in n it somewhat anyhow. Just make sure it's a nice high-res file.

Having had more of a look around their website, I think this is what they describe as embossed, rather than gloss/matte

Could be, but if you like the way it looks, emboss-a-way!

Man, I really should have looked at the website when I ordered. Still the vector art gives a super clean line so I'm glad I used it. Good that everyone can upload their files though. I would be cautious of using .jpeg's without double checking them because they can loose resolution without you realizing it when modifying.

If anyone needs help with their logo, I might be able to help some depending on what's needed. (No charge, just send me a pm.)

Wow, these look fantastic! Is the text completly flat under the top coats - nothing raised at all? If you don't mind me asking, how many clear coats did you need to use?

mPacT - thanks for sharing this, its something I'd be keen to look into.

Today's news: there is no news.

No response from them to either of the emails I sent them about 24 hrs ago.

They emailed me to let me know they're fixing my issue by shipping it to Mike. So they were there...

I think there were 9 or 10 on the ebony/walnut one, but I was using two-part polyurethane which builds a little faster than lacquer. I probably didn't need quite that much, but it was the first one and i didn't want to burn through leveling it. The orange one is still in the clear coat process.

They only mic out at about .003, so it's not ridiculous to bury them, but definitely more than a water slide decal

Well, now my feelings are hurt... They only care about people who have already given them money! (Though that will include me soon though....)

Presumably one could choose to not clear coat if one was so inclined.

Or it just could be that your reputation precedes you

Yes, you absolutely could put them on top of the finish and it would be just fine and look good too. I considered that for sure. It's just a matter of what you want.

That does seem to be a more likely explanation.

Actually, no. I submitted it via the website (which proudly announces 'publishing success!' after the email is sent.)

I'll sort my images out then email that address directly.

I've been on Skype and told them to look for it.
