I was there yesterday and he was there then too. I didnt try to say anything to him, he had groups around him the majority of the time. Huge fan of his playing though. I bought a '74 tele while I was there and really wanted to get him to play it a bit, would have been awesome! Cool story man!

I looooooved the amps. He had an 8W combo. I should've taken a pic. It was a really cool studio-style combo cab. The whole thing weighed 27 lbs "officially." And by officially I mean Phil picked it up lol. It did feel waaaay lighter than I expected. I'll probably be ordering one. I explained all my needs and he recommended the 8w. He said if I start getting bigger gigs and need more volume he could build me a 22 watter chassis that would fit in the same convo cab. I'll probably be placing an order. It's just what I'm looking for. A low watt combo with a 12" speaker and a 6V6. Plus it's a tweed sounding amp and at only 8 watts is crazy loud with a shocking amount of headroom. I could've played it all day.
The best was all knobs on 10 and riding the guitar vol. He explained passive EQ to me. He put the treble and bass both on 10 and said. "Now play, that's the amp." It sounded great!

Thanks. I wouldn't have dreamed of bothering him if he wasn't already talking to my friend. Plus I reeeeeeally wanted to play that Whitfill Tele more than anything lol.

    It can't be true.

getbent says you need to be a total douche to get on in the music industry and nice guys get nowhere. He must have at least been trying to make you want to buy an amp from his friend so he gets a cut...

Side note, I finally got to play a Vintage Sound Princeton. It exceeded my high expectations as well. Dream scenario would be to have the VS20 and the LW 8 watter with an A/B box. The VS had an insane clean tone. I'd love to use it for my clean and kick in the LW8w for leads. I cab dream......

I've encountered a few rich and famous people before; it seems in my experience that the richest and famousest ones are the nicest. The ones that are a little rich or a little famous are jerks.
