I'm picking its got lots of nuggets useful for guitar tube amps. If you don't order it you'll probably end up regretting it. All his other books sold like hotcakes and the power supplies book and 1st edition of the preamps book are still sought after but no longer in print. I have all three of his previous books and they are all compulsive reading.

I have Merlin's guitar preamp book and love it but I already have a couple of hi-fi tube amp books I have read and just don't need another.

    tubeswell,
can you report when received, if he gets into balanced transformer inputs/outputs, and phantom pwr.
for mics and preamps and such. this is a deficiency in my understanding.
i saw in the chapter preview, it perhaps touches upon this?

likely will order anyway just for el library.

    thanks!

Thanks Tubeswell. There are some things you don't need to tell me twice...

I have other guitar circuit books as well, but the material is not presented anything like how Merlin does it. I'd expect the same with the HiFi treatment. I use tube monoblocks for the 5.1 system in my media room, so I can't get enough from tubes.

If you only use tubes for guitar circuits, I'd understand passing on this one, but education comes from many sources. Like I've said before, I spent more at the bar last night and learn nothing from it.
