    I know there are many fans of "the Hag" around here. I thought I'd give you a couple of my favorite deep cuts. Hope you like 'em.





    On this one, I actually heard Gram Parsons' version first.



    A very early song for Merle. It's the first cut off "Down Every Road" which is highly recommended. He sounds a bit like Buck Owens.

    I love California Cotton Fields!
    Great tune.
    Another is Haggard’s Trying Not To Love You.
    I have heard it covered by Johnny Rodriguez, Alan Jackson and David Ball.
    Strangely, I’ve never heard Haggard’s.
