I'm trying to measure the resistance of some Gibson P90 pickups I had laying around.
It seems like there's only one wire when I push back the cloth cover.
Does anyone know how you measure the resistance on these.

Where would you put the other contact on a voltmeter?

What you have is an outer metallic shield which will be your ground conductor and an inner wire which is your main conductor. The main conductor goes to the pickup selector switch and the shield (ground conductor) goes to the back of the volume potentiometer.

PS: measure the resistance between the inner conductor and the shield.

Got it!
They read 8.1k and 8.2k which should be about right for P-90s.

Thanks, that was driving me crazy trying to figure it out.
