Why didn't I get into the band back in the day?

Great tunes. Great vocals. Wonderful guitar work.

I always enjoyed Fade Into You when it came on the radio. But never got farther than that.

Shame on me. RIP David Roback. Unconventional guitar hero in my book. And wonderful songwriter.

Just on the outside chance anyone thinks "Fade..." is her pinnacle, here is my favorite Mazzy Star / Hope song. It's haunting and beautiful.

Blue light and look on down from the bridge are two of my favorites.

Needs more reverb on her vocals.

Mazzy Star were more than just a pretty face singing wistful ballads. So Tonight That I Might See is a great record. Good songwriting wrapped in a hazy moodiness that was very unique.

    Lots of fuzzy goodness here:

    I like this one

Love her vocals. It's cool she plays the harp too.

David Roback was a founding member of Rain Parade, a terrific band.

Big Mazzy Star fan here. Liked Roback's playing and Hope's singing. She is a bit of a shy recluse. Lives in the Bay area I think. Still singing on projects. Soothing rainy day music for me.

Always loved this, Hope with the JAMC, when she was in a relationship with William Reid

They're one of those bands that I'll always remember exactly where I was the first moment I heard them*... life changing stuff for me.

*Driving the truck for work in the Chicago suburbs, around 3 am... "Blue Flower" came on WXRT.
