It reminds me of Ace Frehley's smoking Les Paul. It looks perfectly normal, until you flip it over...
Here's a picture of another one of his smokers with all the tech for the smoke bomb and the halogen light still installed.
I doubt that the fitting of all that tech would have made it any lighter, though.
