I picked up a '62AVRI and a Fender Twin Reverb Reissue for a grand. Not the deal of the century, but for at least, probably the deal of the year! Previous owner changed the plastics out from white to black, and although the case is a Fender branded G&G case, I don't think this was the case it originally came with, but aside from that it looks original, and the amp was just icing on the cake. Had to drive 1.5 hours each way, but well worth it, and probably why it sat on CL for over a week with no takers. I had the day off and the gentleman selling it was super nice and easy to communicate with, so why not?

I'm torn between ordering an original 1-ply white pick guard or just keeping the black plastics on there and calling it a day.

A previous owner also installed a 5-way switch.

Wowowza!! Sweet score. Ka-ching. If it was me, I'd switch out the covers and pickguard for a 3-ply cream. Congratulations.

Congrats! I think we all know tho what the deal of the year has been (so far) and it involves a flea market and a $20 note. Still, that's pretty epic IMB. Re the plastic, I'd go back to white but instead of the single ply I'd go with a 3 ply... might be too much of a hassle. The all black ain't a bad look... kinda a theme with the amp - eh? Have fun!

Ya also could leave the black p/g on and put the white covers & knobs on to get a SRV vibe happening.... can't help but notice the tele on the wall in the background... whatcha got??

Classic 50's with some Fender OV pickups. Also have a CVC Squier body with a Classic 50's neck and some OV's in it.

Nice, seems like a great deal to me as I love the AVRI line.

If it were mine, I would definitely try to find an 'original-ish' pickguard... I think it might have been 3-ply mint green with these ones. At least it is on my '62 Jazzmaster reissue.

Yup, the deal of the century and this year was in that thread. No question.

However, you got a SMOKING DEAL also! Congratulations! I would definitely go cream also, but that is just my preference.

Awesome! Congrats. I’d go with a period-correct, early 60’s 3-ply. Probably mint. Or cream. Aged white knobs and pup covers. But, if every strat looked like that, then mine wouldn’t be as cool as it is. ;)

Totally awesome! That was definitely worth 3 hours of driving. I think the black looks great against the burst and rosewood, but that's just me. HS, just looked at the amp! Have you actually had that Twin up to 4? Yowser!!

Congrats. That is a great deal.

As far as the plastics, bot light and dark look great on 3CS, so you can't lose. If you go light, I recommend parchment or mint green.
