Mashed potatoes! One of my favorite foods and one of the first kitchen chores my Mom taught me how to do when I was very young.

You can do so much to and with mashed potatoes. Bacon bits, garlic, onions, the shake from a head of broccoli, and paprika come to mind.

Potato pancakes & Sheppards Pie are two of our favorites.

We leave the skins on for texture, flavor, and vitamins.

Bangers and Mash wouldn't be the same without the mash potatoes..;)

bit of butter and milk and a rough mash.... I don't like it over pureed, you shouldn't be able to pour your mash potatoes.......;)

I can't eat them or peas, they give the gag reflex.
No doubt due to my parents force feeding me them by the bucket load

I probably eat more potatoes than any other type of food and yes, I do like mashed potatoes. As one of three children my father taught us to put creamed corn on top of the mashed potatoes and then apple sauce on top of the creamed corn. He called it "monkey salad". That plus any type of meat or fish would be an evening meal.

My wife really liked mashed potatoes, I did not. I can eat them, but not a favorite of mine. In fact since she passed, I have not had any.

I normally have baked, fried or boiled and parsley's potatoes.

Today I am making a rump roast, something else I haven't eaten much, but because of price. I have decided to make mashed potatoes. The good news is I can change my mind at the last minute and just dump parsley on them and leave off the butter and milk.

We'll see. Either way, add green beans and it will be a good meal.

Of course there is always garlic and bacon potatoes.
Go good with Hot Pastrami:

We went out and ate breakfast this morning. I had an eight oz steak medium rare with hashbrowns, eggs over easy, a VERY large biscuit with a bowl of gravy on the side. I've gotten to where I only like a baked potatoes with all of the trimmings, or hashbrowns. Momma made some potatoes, green beans, and onions with some bacon the other night, and I ate it, but I don't much like boiled potatoes much anymore. with the tip, breakfast ran just under fifty bucks.

Did anyone watch Groovie Goolies? I vaguely remember Frankie saying “maaaaashed potaatooooeesss” occasionally.

He, too, failed to mention gravy iirc.
