They don't call it 'Nashville's best sounding telecaster' for nothing!

Those guys rock! I love the way Marty incorporates the bender so fluidly. Letterman's sound crew sure didn't do him any favors though. His guitar was only barely audible. Kenny's was loud and clear though.

that was freakin awesome. i haven't liked harmonized/synchronized guitar solos since the beatles did them but these guys pulled it off.

in other news, there's some serious sexual tension between those two rascals:lol:

That's Kenny Vaughn on the other Tele. Great player. We used to go see him in Denver 30 years ago.

That Tele is double width if you can find a shot of it online I've seen breakdowns of it before ... It'd be a bear to play a full gig with that boat anchor!

BTW~ Thats the now "past tense bass player" ... one might think perhaps a little bad blood there before the axe fell

I may be totally wrong and I am sure someone will correct me but I think I read somewhere that Marty's double thickness telecaster is in fact the original Parsons/Green guitar that had the prototype bender put into it.

That is correct, Marty traveled to Kentucky (I believe) to Clarence Whites old homested and purchased it ... imagine that NGD .

I think I read that in another thread on here, or maybe Marty's site awhile back  (sucks, gettin' old)

Marty had several benders before he finally persuaded Clarence White's family to sell him the Tele. He said he was never able to produce what he was trying to do with any of the others. When he picked up Clarence's guitar, it all fell into place. He says that the leverage and travel of the bender is just a tiny bit different than anything he'd played before, I'm sure he knows what he's looking for now, just in case.

Actually, don't know if you ever read this, but Clarence got a little carried away with the bender for while he was so infatuated with the ability to do those bends. Look at the banjo tuners on the headstock of that old guitar, they've been on there since Clarence played it that old gal can make a lot of different sounds.

In the first YouTube video, looks like both guitars have Strat pickups in the neck position. Be interesting to hear what that sounds like?

I have a CW Custom Shop and so do some people here. It is a Stratocaster pickup, and it does have punch.

So what is it you want? A 1954 Telecaster with the first B-bender, or just a 1954 RI, or any Tele with vintage frets that has a B-bender and a chunky neck? Or Clarence White(nee Le Blanc), back from the dead?
