This is one of the Martin D Jr's. It's a D Jr 10 with Fishman Electronics.

I love parlors and smaller guitars for writing and noodling and relaxing at night. I have a couple parlors and a Big Baby Taylor. I'm a Martin guy (mostly) and I love the Big Baby. The neck is full scale and the body is about 4/5 the size of a dread. The Big Baby is very comfy and they really project.

I think that CF Martin came up with a much better Big Baby.

    The D Jr's

100% solid wood - sitka spruce top and solid Sapele back & sides
Solid wood neck - no stratabond necks like the Martin X guitars have
Fishman Sonitone Electronics - the volume and tone pot hide in the sound hole
    Hand scalloped X-bracing
Real inlaid rosette and body binding
C shaped neck with some bulk to it - it's a hand full
    1-3/4" nut! :)
    Nut & Bridge - White Corian/White Tusq

Includes a very nice gig bag - they added a heavily padded flap inside where the strap pin on the lower bout sits - the guitar is protected from smacking the lower pin into the wood

It's a real wooden guitar - the basic natural Sapele or spruce top model starts at $499. The burst with electronics is $699 - $100 less without electronics.

This has been on craiglslist here for a week and I know the seller. Cool keeper for $400. Another cuddling guitar. If you don't have a cuddling guitar then you need to get in touch with your feelings and go shopping for another guitar.

A "cuddling guitar"? You're killing me! Nice score. Like it plenty. Congrats!

Nice looking guitar, i'd like one but they cost around $1000 bucks here after the slave masters have taken their cut and the exchange rate kicks in.

I like Martin's D Jr a lot but the only solid wood is on top. Sides and back are laminated and the fretboard is Richlite. Kudos to the 1 3/4" nut and full scale. I actually have been wanting one to replace the nice Ibanez AC240 I had. Good deal there. Enjoy.

Congrats, those Dread Jrs are really nice guitars. I almost bought one but can't get along with the 24" scale.

Both the Dr Jr and Big Baby are 15/16 guitars.

Just curious - even the Martin website says back and sides are solid sapele; fingerboard and bridge are Richlite, according to Martin.

Where are you seeing some different information? This is info on current website - possibly the laminates were on earlier models?

Respectfully.....the sides and back are solid Sapele. Work hard. Google it. Have fun!

I have one. Really fantastic guitars for the $$$. I love the easy action of the 24" scale too.
Really pretty burst on yours--it looks much cuddlier than the plain top.

I've got one, and its flat out amazing for a travel size guitar. In fact, its the only travel size guitar that sounds like a full size guitar. Its got the Martin dread sound down to a tee. Not sure how its doing it..?!?

Its loud enough for a jam too, but it is a few notches softer than a D18/28.

And it fits in 00 case well. Great product besides the great price, made in Mexico, etc.

Correct. You can see the untrimmed edge, and verify the back is solid, combined with the numerous statements on CFM's website that its all solid. The neck wood is high quality, proper grain straightness as are the back and sides.

You must be a tall man with long arms! I’m 5’9” and I look like Fred Flintstone. I need to stand or be seated properly to enjoy my D28. I just don’t have the height to sit on a couch and reach around a dread comfortably. If I could get surgery that would make me 4” taller then my weight would be absolutely perfect.

That’s my story. I’m sticking with it.

Wrong... All solid... And there is not a thing bad about Richlite, it's smoother than Ebony...

I’m shorter than you! I scoot to the front edge of the couch with the HD28, or any other guitar. If I try to lean back with a guitar the playing position is all wrong.
