We need a club for Martin renegades guitar owners.

I see Martin's CEO line as a way to flip the bird to Gibson's acoustics.

And to us, guitar players, it gives us the opportunity to play Gibsonesque acoustics with Martin's consistent quality control.

Here's my own CEO-7.

Congrats! That is a beauty you have there.
I have only played one Martin CEO-7. It felt great, played great and sounded great. The amount of volume (and tone) it produced was way beyond what I expected. They are very nice guitars. I would have taken it home, but alas....I only had $16 in my wallet.

Any of you guys replaced your tuners? I think that's coming. I gigged her pretty regular for a couple of years without new tuners, but it's the only thing about the guitar I don't like.

I'd say 'not yet'. They look cool, though. As soon as they fail, I'm gonna replace them.

I hope i could use the same Gotoh open-back that Martin uses on recent 000-28

I’ve had a CEO-7 since early 2020, just before pandemic pricing kicked in and I was able to get it brand new for just under $2000 - I think with shipping it might have been a couple dollars over $2000. I love the sound, LOVE the neck - I knew within seconds of starting to play it it was my favorite feeling acoustic neck ever. I also have an 000-28EC, which also has a mod-V neck - it’s a bit beefier than the CEO-7 Mod-V, but I love em both. In terms of sound, just depends on what mood I’m in - sometimes it’s gotta be the drier sound of mahogany, sometime I prefer the lusher rosewood sound. They’re my #1 and #2 acoustics, in no particular order - love em both. I also have a carbon fiber McPherson Sable, which is an amazing guitar in its own right, but the two wooden guitars are #1 and #2.

Oh, I replaced the tuners within 6 months or so. A set of Gotoh SE700 tuners (a few styles to choose from) drop right in, are way smoother, and hold tuning better.

Well, looks like I’m two short compared to y’all but here’s my CEO-5 anyway. I went looking for a J-45 or a D-18 but came back with this. Guess I fell in love with the bearclaw figuring on the top and the 1 3/4” nut.
Very cool! all CEOs model are welcome. In fact, I cant wait to see the next iteration!!!

Thanks Ray for documenting here what brand/kind of tuners are drop-in replacement to CEO-7 original tuning pegs!!

tonewise: i got a Martin 000-28 which is more 'civilized' than the CEO-07 cannon-like tone. I love both!
