Marshall Origin 5. Worth making a project of?

    I don't see any love online for these things. Local pawn shop has one for $200 final offer. Not much info to go.bh. it would be great if so do e had a schematic! Should I hit it?

    Depends on what you want to do with it, I guess. $200 would be a bit high for me for a project amp with pcb innards, cheap transformers, MDF cab, and no published schem. There are better buys for project amps, IMO.

    OTOH, if you just want a working amp to try to some basic mods and not sink much into, it might be worth it. Just IMHO.

    Your right. Guess my thoughts are wondering how little would it take to make this thing sing?

    Main reason I was considering it was they had one close at a pawn shop. Think I waited to long and they closed now!

    Pretty sure it's the same or similar chassis as found in the Class 5.

    Sockets mount to the circuit board meaning you'd probably want to make an adapter plate to mount sockets to the chassis.

    They retail for $299 at Sweetwater. $200 at a pawn shop isn't exactly a screaming deal.

    There are amps that are better and cheaper for your purpose.
