So, next in this project is a thing called MARS.

The thought was to have equipment and hands
on the planet to cultivate the land.

It needs some work for sure, so let me know what I can
glean (pun) from your observations. Thanks.

I like it. Even without oxygen it's got plenty of life.

    Seriously...good groove and ambience!

These pieces of music are designed for video. To either bring life to
video clips or enhance the emotion of what is trying to be said.

In this instance, Mars is being cultured as a giant plantation.
    Hope it translates to video.

I also don't have a top melody line for this one as the vids hopefully
will dictate hwta needs to be on top.

    Any thoughts?

Thoughts? Yes, as I was listening I was thinking it would be a good ambient soundtrack for film. I honestly didn't know that's what it was intended for, so take that FWIW from a naive listener like myself. I found it to be enjoyable listening.

This is really cool! Beautiful structuring of timbre, texture, and 'tude.

As my composition teacher, Ralph Shapey, used to blandly tell us, "keep going." Well, gee, Ralph, don't overdo the praise stuff, will you? We still joke about it today.

    Thanks Larry.

It's hard for me to grasp that it was done on my laptop
since my desktop one is not working properly.

My goal is to have at least 8 or 10 pieces to complete the project,
    working title of Solar System.

    I will keep going. Thanks.

I"ve been following this thread and just realized this morning I haven't commented on it!

This is put together really well, and the mix is fine. I had a couple of possible enhancements to suggest, though:

    * At about 2:00, what if you gradually ramped up the rhythm guitar on the right toward the front of the mix — not a lot, just maybe 3 or 4 dB, so it spices up the repetitive passage a little, then start easing in back down at around 2:32 (with maybe a soft surge at that emphatic lick at 2:47, where that figure drops out). It would add another dynamic to the arrangement without being intrusive, and would add the sense of "something different going on" as the guitar harmony riff cycles.

    * A small, subtle tweak, but if it were me (and I realize it's not!), I'd pull that guitar fill at 3:01-3:03 forward in the mix about 3 dB — that's an outrageous little lick! And a great way to take it home.

Just blue-skying here! I like the direction you're going with your last few pieces, and it's been good to hear you active in the studio again.

    Thanks a bunch Woody!

I'll note those changes and have that dynamic perspective in mind.

Like I mentioned, these are all for video so I might have to pump
when I really want to chillax dynamically. Depends on the visual.
Trying to focus and hone my craft around that medium.
