Manta 4-string tenor

    Here's the window of wood for the body cap. This maple is really soft. To stabilize it I use:

    Which penetrates the wood and either dries, hardens, polymerizes or something like that. Maybe plasticize would be he best description. No...solidify. Let that sit for a few days, sand off the goobers and its ready to use.

    Rest of the body cap attached. It is 1/4" thick. Will taper it into the walnut.

    I tune the tenor I built CGDA low to high.This in perfect fifths like a mandolin and mandolin chords work but are obviously in a different key.There is something very chimy (is that a word......lol) about playing it this way.You are doing a fine job without my two cents worth so carry on! :lol:

    Got out the angle grinder this morning and started blending surfaces. Trimmed the headstock cap. Bridge and pup located.
