I have watched videos and viewed photographs here and seen highly creative and skilled members creating instruments, cabinets, work spaces and tools for their own use.
I have great respect for what I have seen here and though to share a 15 minute video of a man creating a living space for himself.

Needs to get him a few ice chests full of cheap cold beer for anyone willing to help.
Shoot, I don’t even know where he’s at but I bet half my podnahs would show up to at least offer moral support.

As Trev333 has shown , Coober Pedy, about 500+ miles north of me, is mainly occupied underground. It's too hot to live on the surface. If you're a tourist you can see inside some homes, a Church and other places. Thanks Trev.

Used to be a builder? Probably got sacked for refusing to wear PPE.
    Still, that's some fantastic work.

    Yeah, amazing.

A LOT of hard work, though!

    And, no PROTECTIVE EYE-WEAR!

    (kinda crazy, really... imo.)

I can think of many reasons to live underground. I have ideas for underground home. Off grid.

    Nice try, Big Brother.
I dig myself into holes all the time, but usually they're just verbal.

Coober Pedy has some amazing labyrinth houses including built in pools. It can be 50C ( 122F ) outside, blokes work mining for opal all day and go home to underground coolness and luxury.

With the added bonus of finding good opal in the material you dig out.....:)

some blokes must have made a fortune building their underground house...;)
