I don't understand the Light body Thang,at all, The more dense a material is the more sound wave will travel thur it, ie.Indians puttin their ear to railroad tracks, I once built a LP outta african zebra wood, that weighed approx 10lbs per board ft, The guitar was a tone machine sustain forever. I will stick with heavy bodies, guitars not ladies!!
Sheesh!

Why not just do this?

Back in college in the late '70s, I walked into a music store and saw a Strat that somebody took a hole saw to and drilled more than a half dozen holes all the way through the body - using 3 different sizes of saw bits for different sized holes. Then they painted it a color of pink just a tad redder than Pepto. No attempt to hide it under a pickguard, either. And you know it was probably a legit US Fender that we would consider a valuable "vintage" guitar today. There's a special place in hell ...
