Looking for any info on this old amp I picked up.It is a PANaramic 900 head,and matching 2-10" cab.Amp has 3-12ax7's,and 2-7189A power tubes.Power transformer#-TR-31752,and,83-16335.Output tranformer#-14704521,and,450-6335.Speaker #45012,and,270704.Was thinking audio guild,but looking for tubes,and found out,Magnatone used 7189A in thier custom series amps from 63-67,so now I thinking it is a Maggie,has sweet tremelo,and reverb.

Cool.
Would be nice to see some better pictures.

Magnatone made a PanOramic amplifier line.

A web search for PanAramic amplifier yields the following. (Note the different spellings.)

https://reverb.com/item/2377847-panaramic-by-audio-guild-corporation-combo-amp-1969-magnatone-bonham

"Don Bonham designed Audio Guild amp, PANaramic.

Bonham worked at Magnatone and designed it's wonderful vibrato. He formed Audio Guild Corp (AGC) with Bob Half who owned Versatone. AGC built amps under their own name, also under the Grand Prix, Titano and PANaramic brands. The latter two brands were owned by Ernest Deffner who previous to AGC contracted the Estey Company who made Magnatone amps and OEM amps for other brands.

This amp has a similar warm clean sound with creamy reverb like vintage Magnatones with a bit of the Versatoneand transparency and articulation of attack. The vibrato is the same circuit as the Magnatone."

Yes,but I have seen magnatone panaramic spelled same way.The 7189A tubes were used by magnatone, audio guild used different tubes, still 4# tubes,in the ones I have seen.Still thinking Maggie amp from my research, and a real rare one,but still trying to find out for sure It is in excellent shape for it's age, nothing has been touched inside, still has 2 prong cord.Anybody know about the codes on transformers, and speakers, dates? Thanks. Sorry about pics, best I could do.

codes....we would have to see them to understand them.....and the pics would have to be in focus. Or, if you can write the codes out for each Transformer, speaker, etc; the. We co7ld give you an idea.

note that 7189A tube differ from 6BQ5/7189 tubes with regard to an internal wiring difference. One must be careful with regard to socket wiring.

My bad.....
There are only two EIA date codes that I can decipher.... 450 6335....I do not know the manufacturer EIA code 450, but the date there is the 35th week of 1963.
The speaker code....270 704.....270 = Quam and 704 would indicate the 4th week of either 1967 or 1977??? Neither of those dates closely match the tranny code from 1963.
The other numbers for the trannies and the speakers are model codes. Are there no other numbers on the transformers? That multisection cap can....the large silver cylinder....will have a date code. It is usually at or near the bottom. The orange cylindrical electrolytics will have a date code on their orange jacket. The pots will have date codes. i don’t see an Any designation at the end of the 7189???

Speakers could also be 1957.Artic white,do a dogpile.com search for panaramic amp,and you will see one,it was listed on reverb 5 years ago,and it is spelled PANaramic model 1210,made by Magnatone.I will look at can cap, cannot see pot codes, they must be on side of pots, thier not on back. The 7189 tubes are Gregory, great britian.I know about the tubes, and what will work.I know EL84's is a no,no.I was told the Russian military 6P14P tubes will work,as direct replacement.I order some to see,but the gregories are working fine, they came with amp, along with 2,12ax7 gregories, and one RCA,I put the JJ's in just to try them.

Rogforge, I mentioned the ‘A’ thing due to the tubes being 7189 and not 7189A. Good luck with it.

Lots of Panaramic/Guild sellers claim their amps are Magnatones.
Yet none of the amps actually have a Magnatone label.
None I've seen anyway.
Post a Pic if you find one.
I'd be happy to be wrong.

Wally, the A is rubbed off the tube you can see,but they are 7189A,heck,I put some old mesa el84,that I changed out my rockett 44 amp, they worked for about 5 minutes ,and one got red hot,so I did research on the tubes, and I know only 7189A's will work, unless you rewire some pins, that's where I found out about the Russian milatery grade 6P14P tubes, that are suppose to work, they are made for the higher voltage, and built like a tank.I will be opening amp back up,and see if I can get some more info for you.Thanks.

Welcome to the TDPRI. I'm glad you're using the wealth of knowledge that we have here as a resource to find out more about your amp.

Please take time to read the rules section at the top of every subforum. Also, please note the reminder that is listed at the bottom of every single page, including this one. It says:

IMPORTANT: Treat everyone here with respect, no matter how difficult!

Magnatone/Esty did build their own circuits under the Panaramic name. That doesn't mean other makers did not do the same. I cannot tell from any of the material provided whether this particular amp is in fact a Magnatone/Esty circuit, either completely or mostly. The Maggie M10A and M15 did use 7189A tubes. Not sure which others did. Tube choice alone does not tell the tale.

A more detailed description would be in order. I see two 7189A tubes. Is the speaker out 16 ohms or 8 ohms? (The M10A had a 16 ohm OT ...)

One other clue (beyond trying to match the circuit to something Magnatone/Esty themselves produced) would be the vibrato. Is it tremolo in your amp, or true pitch shift vibrato? (I'm no techie, so would not recognize the varistors in your pics if they are there.)
