So, I already have a Telecaster with an ornate pewter pickguard engraved by my late Father, and having just completed a Telemaster build I wanted a similar deal, although please forgive my engraving skills they are no match for the master craftsman my Father was.

I bought some sheet aluminium and a nibbled attachment for my drill. Cut to shape the pickguard and filed smooth the edges.

was a bit nervous tackling the engraving but I am quite pleased with the result......be happy to get some opinions on this.

Also taking commissions ha ha ! D11F031B-5207-43B5-B7F0-E344C4337881.jpeg

Wow, I've made a couple of telemaster scratchplates (well, 3 actually, but we won't talk about one of them), but none of them looked like that.

Fine work. Can we see it on the guitar?

    Looks good
    Not familiar with nibbled attachment.
Would it cut a piece of brass the same thickness? If so I am looking to do something similar.

Not sure about brass, maybe if its thin enough, it won’t cut anything metal thicker than 2mm, I only bought it on Amazon, it came with a bench clamping attachment and then you have two hands free to feed the sheet through

Nice work! Is that a Celtic dragon?

I'm interested in that bit you mentioned as well. Could you post the Amazon link?

I think you are selling your engraving skills a bit short. Awesome looking pickguard. Can't wait to see it on the guitar. Very, very cool!
