I can get a clearance LTD TE-202 distressed tele copy for $199 new. I was thinking about the Squire VM Custom with neck WRHB. This LTD was $349 new. Should I go for it and save $150?

That's certainly a great price. I'm comtemplating buying a 212, which essentially is the same as the 202 except without the rosewood board and relic finish. Everything I've read about them or seen on YouTube seems to indicate they are solidly built. Some have said they needed a touch up on their frets while others have said they are ok. That might vary from guitar to guitar. And a number of folks have said that the stock pickups are ok but could certainly be better. Particularly the humbucker in the neck.

If I make the purchase I've got fender and fender spec parts that I would want to swap out out to make it a more traditional tele style guitar with a S/S coil layout. The question I've got is will those parts fit?

I had one, they have a very thin neck, and the body is very heavy.

I would! Looks great, as long as it plays great, that's really cheap for a t style

Be careful, I've heard some of its parts are non-Fender spec/size, so your parts may not fit

If it's a online sale, how about letting the rest of us know where it is so we can get one?

At least you didn't have to worry about neck dive.....heh-heh

Seriously - that's the worst combination. If I wanted that I would get a LP.

I had one, they have a very thin neck, and the body is very heavy.

My example has neck less thin than Squier CV50 & CVC and body is not very heavy, clearly lighter than CV50.

Neck bucker is little dark alone, but suits well for jazz. Both pickups together are surprisingly open in tone, and bridge pickup similar sounding as Broadcaster in my Baja Tele.:D

I bought it 2 years ago from Thomann in Germany, price back then was 2650 swedish krona, about 320 USD.;)

My amps are VOX VT30, Fender SCXD and Ampeg GVT 52-212, Jensen P10R and P12R in Fender & Ampeg.
