Yeah I see that. Needs someone with more knowledge than me to explain it, if indeed there is a known answer!

What's the 3 - P90 double cut guitar? Who made it? That's super cool.

Here's mine - a cheap one at the start, but a very good one now - once modded :

It's a beast. A Hard Knocks guitar built by Will Kelly, Vintage Guitar Magazine's repair columnist and custom builder. '59 LP Jr DC specs...well, with some serious P90age going on. ;)

    Yup, just buy a Tele.

Why buy a pretend Gibson, pretending to be a Tele?

Oh yeah.... it's cheap. Plenty of cheap guitars out there.

I have one of the 90s stop tail Specials to which I added a Bigsby - it's a really cool guitar.

Get the real deal! I love my DC Faded Special, it’s been refinished with India Ink and Tung Oil. The dog seems to like it too :)

If the bolt on neck bothers you so much, glue it in place.

I drank too much last night and now my LP Special is on the way. I've probably done worse for my money. The price was just too good.

I bought one of the OP-linked Epiphones a few months ago. It’s a nice guitar. I put on an extension nut and made it a slide guitar. I’ll put up with a bolt-on neck for $129.

They used to have a nicer round profile. That changed when they did away with allen head adjustment screws on the bridge and slim taper neck profile. I've had a few earlier ones and one of the newer versions over the years. I have one from '13 with the round profile I like and it's not going anywhere. The quality is a little better on the newer ones but I'm not a slim taper fan.Great bang for the buck. Used to get them for $99 on sale. Even at regular prices these are a decent bargain. It always cracks me up when the different colors have different price points.
To the OP...I don't think you'll regret it one bit.

Have another drink to celebrate a good choice lol! I had my brother do a set up on mine. You might need to also. Mine had a little fret buzz at first. These P90 Specials are a GC/MF exclusive and a good bargain.

Yes, love 'em. Here's my 59 (with appropriate '59 Gibson GA-5 amp). EchoPark Mini-hum in the neck at the moment:

The only LP’s I’ve ever truly dug! LP Special Singlecut in TV Yellow remains a yet to be attained dream guitar.

Man, I should have grabbed one when they were under a C-note...

I'm afraid my 2 LP Special guitars are not Gibsons, and they do have bolt on necks, but I like both.

One is an Epi LP Special with P90s. The other is a Firefly LP double cut with a P90 at the bridge. The latter is one mean sounding guitar and for the swamp rock I like to play, it's perfect.
