Another vote for the Supro Delta 12. Great sounding amp for a good price, especially when bought used. Easy to control volume, and great to tweak your tone thanks to bass/mid/treble controls.

I’m looking into small tube amps. I got my first really nice guitar (JP mirror tele) and I’d like to match it with a high quality amp. I may play out, or with friends occasionally, but 99% of the time I would be playing at home. I have some hearing damage already, so it would probably have to be attenuated. I’m a radically simple man. It doesn’t have to do a lot of different things, just one thing really well. The perfect option seems to be the newer, attenuated dr z mini but those are hard to find. Some alternatives I’m kicking around are the Laney Cub, a Supro 64 Super + attenuator, that 5 watt Ashdown guitar amp, tone king gremlin, Delta King 8 (though I’d like to option for more than one watt) and an AC 4 + attenuator. I’d be grateful for further suggestions, or shared positive or negative experiences with these amps.
If you haven't purchased an amp yet, I second the suggestion for a VHT special 6 Ultra. It has pentode/triode (1/2 power switch), a wattage attenuator, is hand-wired, is setup to accept different tube types, and comes with a very decent speaker in the 1x12 combo. I have tried several pedals through it, and all sounded good. It has a foot switchable boost that switches it between a fender champ-like tone to one similar to a blackface. I can get fairly aggressive tones, and I can get pretty sparkly cleans at bedroom levels. I have played single coils, P90's, and HB's through it and all sound good. I would probably suggest buying the head and a 2x10 cab, as most people seem to agree that, while the stock speaker is good, the biggest upgrade is had by replacing speakers.

VHT produce some wonderful little amps too. The Special 6 and Special 6 Ultra heads are well known and liked on here. There are combo versions available too. They feature a low power mode which is basically running the 6V6 as a triode. It's a different, and rather nice, sound when things get rowdy.

If you just want to try different amps, now is a good time to buy. Second hand valve amps aren't fetching a lot over here. When the current mess blows over and people have disposable income again, you'll probably be able to make a profit on whatever second hand purchases you make, plus you get to own many amps.
As an example, I paid less for a Laney LC15 ( forerunner to the Cub range ) than many pay for an overdrive pedal. £50 for a working valve amp. A year ago, they were £100. If I wait a year and turn a small profit, I've had the pleasure of the amp for a year and been paid for it. Can't lose. Even if the prices don't pick up, £50 for a UK made Laney that sounds incredible isn't to be sneezed at.
I have had a VHT Special 6 Ultra combo for eleven years now. Loud enough to play small pubs unmic'ed, but the "Watts" control brings the volume down to home use levels. Liked it so much that I bought an extension cab, then a head and cab.

The LC15 was my first valve amp, bought used for £95 about fifteen years ago. A few years after that I picked up a LC15R for only £70. It's not as versatile as the VHT, but it is a good sound in a small package.

You suggested the Laney Lionheart 5 watt in an earlier post. I've never played one, but have played a 20 watt 4x10" combo and it was glorious, and would be very tempted if a 5 watt Lionheart came up locally. I don't know how easy either of the Laneys would be to find n the USA, but the VHT sold well there.

Laney promised a 'Boutique' amp sound from the L5. They aren't lying.
It's Laney-Loud thanks to the 12" speaker. The sound 'carries', it'll hang in a dad-blues jam easily. Small pub?, no problem. That, a Matamp MiniMat and the Laney Cub 8 were what set me on a path of low Wattage amps. A path I enjoy following. One day, I'll own an L5T-112. Oh yes, one day, one will be mine.
I have a VHT Special 6 ( not the Ultra ) head. The low power mode, with the tone circuit bypassed, is a joy to my ears. I have no intention of modding it. It does what I want stock.
I have too many amps, but I'd make room for a Lionheart :)
