Looking for a lower output tele bridge, to get more of a feel. I currently have a texas special in there, so something the opposite of that I suppose. I would like to get that older vintage feel/response from the guitar. Playing rock/country type music, think Keith Urban.
    Thanks

I had a Nocaster pickup from Don Mare - It isn't listed on his website, but he made one for Rick Holmstrom. It was under 6k ohms and sounded fantastic - the best low output Tele pickup I've heard. Sold it, but I shouldn't have.

You might email Don and see if he'll make another.

Twang King by Di Marzio or Rumpelstiltskin White Rope...which I prefer.

Don Mare's Joel Foy bridge is a lower wound A3. Mine is a tad lower at 5.85 than stated on his site. Great pickup.

This. Sweet, charming, and harmonically rich.
    I love mine!

I have one in an Esquire and have to agree but I don't think he's winding anymore. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

keep in mind, that you can rob peter, to pay paul. a "low output" tele bridge pickup can mean different things. typically, if you use the same wire, you can wind an a3 magnet coil a tad more, and still have lower output than the same coil wrapped around an a5 magnet.

    horses for courses.

i--personally--always prefer lower output single coil pickups. i don't play metal, so tone is my holy grail. or at least my perception of it. :)

I just got another set for my Fender Japan '62 Custom Telecaster. That means both of my guitars will have the Oildales in them. Like last time, Chris said he'd bring them to me and install them (I live in the next town east of him). :D
