One of my favorite Beatles albums. It was ground breaking stuff fore sure. The first time I heard It I was awe struck. I was just a kid and remember just saying wow!

I have said for years that if you change one note of a Beatles era Paul McCartney bass line, you only make it a weaker bass line.

I have to say that when I play bass I am 100% trying to play like him. No one else enters the picture.

    WWPMD?

In the original the high-hat, snare and one rhythm guitar come together (sorry) every so often with this cool musical crash of a sound. Very unique.

Also this reminds me - Andy Timmons has an album of Sgt Pepper done instrumentally with his three-piece band. He seems to have nailed many of the vocal harmonies and interesting musical parts. His Strawberry Fields cover is really good, too - esp. the outro. Here's his cover of Lovely Rita - perhaps a little heavy, but pretty cool.

    He's right though. :)

.. and while I like The Beatles very much, if anything this song is a little overrated. I don't think it's one of their very best. ;)

I could probably go for the rest of my life without hearing Sgt Pepper again and wouldn't miss it. I have not yet played the remix version that I bought upon release in 2017.

But the knee jerk threadcrap from dude is tiresome.

Not underrated, I think it's a mediocre song which screams "filler".
The only Beatles album I revisit these days is Revolver.
