Louie Anderson was different - kind of uncomfortable to watch sometimes - but his stint in Coming to America was really good - after hearing his
upbringing I understood the weirdness - and liked him a lot more.
Just heard this on NPR.....sorry to hear.
The first time I saw him on TV, he did a bit about riding in a car with his father or grandfather driving.....who was complaining about the other drivers on the road. Don't remember it word-for-word.....just recall it had me laughing so hard I had tears in my eyes.
R.I.P. Louie.
A friend and I saw him years back. He did a bit on borrowing and wrecking his dad's Pontiac.
It really hit home with us as my friend used to borrow his brother's Parisienne in high school and had a similar (but nowhere near as funny) adventure.
I forget Louie's exact quote but we used it for years "wrecked the Pontiac, huh? What did you do, hit a train?"
