If he had done nothing more than West Side Story, he would be known forever.....but with everything else (especially Cabaret) there's just no way to express his legacy.
As a kid, I was introduced to the musical theater through Casa Manana in Ft Worth....and while I knew nothing of its history and background, I learned later how much influence he exerted on the entire genre.
My screen name is even derived from Bob Fosse's All That Jazz, and Fosse was a direct link to Hal Prince.
Obviously, no one lives forever, but with Hal Prince, some will live forever in our hearts.
