The LUCINDA music stand clip was great. But for posting I like to go to the original footage...

I'm confused, I thought we were discussing Nirvana's "Unplugged."
Are we supposed to let someone know when Nirvana records one of the best live albums in rock history? Because I think that ship has sailed.

Do what you need. It’s not uncommon for pros to be playing 8-10 gigs per week, some with different bands, some solo, jazz, rock, leader, sideman...most sideman gigs I played in the day I was sight reading everything. Unless you are just in one band with a limited rep list, it’s really unlikely you can have everything memorized.
Re Music stands:
I guess I am not ready. I suppose I will never be ready. I am not committed to being ready. I play & sing when I can, and enjoy it. I am not willing to put in the dedication required to completely memorize, sing, and perform, 50 plus songs by 50 or so different artists, spread across a 50 year span. So we can earn $50 at a gig. Then keep rolling in new songs to keep the show fresh. I respect those who do accomplish that. I just have too many other demands of my time. For my situation, I am happy gigging once a month or so. Weekly rehearsals. Just keeping things fun in a cover band. I don't expect professional gig earnings. Sorry if you expect a professional show and my music stand kills the show. You're getting what you paid for. 4 guys having fun at a hobby we enjoy.
When I was young and had more time than money, sure. I was happy to put in 6 hours practicing every day. Memorizing songs. Today I'm older, quite busy and wiser... I think. I choose who and what can take up my precious personal time.
Excuses for not being dedicated to losing the music stand?... Maybe. depends on your perspective I suppose.
