My old JamMan looper is in its last leg. I haven’t kept up on loopers so I’m looking for recommendations/suggestions on a new one.
Not for playing out but something to play around with for practice/noodling more than anything

I've been using a Boss RC-3 forever. I'm not familiar with other options. It does what I want and more.

Had a Boss RC-3 and liked it but thought it was too complicated and had a ton of features that I didn't use and/or didn't understand. Ditto Looper is now my favorite. It's got a foot trigger and a volume knob, and that's it. And its cheap.

Carl was a "looper" in "Caddyshack".

    Maybe he's available?

The Ditto is receiving a significant upgrade soon, but I don't think it's yet shipping. I'd recommend the 'old' model if it wasn't for that. Dead simple and I love it, don't have a breadth of experience with others however.

    .

find a Kokko / Ammoon / Moskey mini looper, they run about $35 or 1/4 of a Ditto mini looper for the same thing.

    I have a Kokko SOS FLP2.

If you need more foot switches ... buy two of them.

I third the recommendation of TC Electronics' Ditto looper.

You can grab the original version NOW...:

...or grab the new & improved version SOON:

I recently purchased a Boss GT-1 Multiprocessor that has a looper and a gazillion other features...

I like it, but it will take me years to actually figure out how to use it ...

It’s like deja vu all over all over all over again.

    Ditto the Ditto.

It’s too bad I didn’t ask about loopers 10-25 years ago

Thanks for the input from all others

Got the Ditto also, and a Boomerang III. Now I think I want the Ditto+ too. Cool little box.

I'm a big Boss fan. Had 4 of their GT series and other pedals. But, I couldn't love their RC loopers. They're tone suckers. I tried the TC Ditto X2 and loved irs simplicity and tone bypass. I eventually upgraded to the X4.

I learned more about mine when I plugged it into my computer and using Tone Studio.

I've really liked my Boss RC-1. Very easy to use and does enough for my needs. I went back and forth between it and TC Electronic's Ditto for some time, ultimately choosing what I thought would be the more robust one. If board space isn't an issue, I'd make the same choice today.
