Looking For Some Tech Advice.

At last after some complications, I now have my Full Fibre to the house connected.
The speed is a blistering 0.5 Gbps in sharp contrast to the 6Mbps I was getting on copper or 50Mbps on my 4G dongle.

Here's the problem...

I connected my phone to the new wifi and it was fine. Ran a speed test and the speed showed 500Mbps using fast.com.
The installer's laptop was exactly the same. Full speed.

However, when connecting either of my laptops (Surface Pros Windows 11) I'm not getting speeds of any higher than 40Mbps and that's even sitting right next to the router.

The router is a Fritz!Box 7530. I've got IPV6 enabled on both Surface Pros.

Is there any suggestions as to what the problem is?

@Kandinskyesque Some things to try

--If you're using a VPN, that will do it. Disable it and see if that speeds things up.

--Update your network driver (device manager > network adapter > update driver).

--Run the network troubleshooter (System > Troubleshooters > Network Connection)

These are all the network adapters and the driver update shows they're up to date.

The troubleshooter can't see any problems.

It seems strange because both Surface Pros got a clean W11 install a couple of weeks ago.

Hmmmm, you may be metering your connection in Windows. Try this:

System Settings > Network and Internet

Select Wifi. From the list of networks, click on the one you're connected to.

Under Configure Firewall and Security, look for "Metered Connection," and an on-off toggle. Switch it off.

Back out, and restart the computer.

I ended up phoning the ISP (Zen) and when they reset the signal from their end one of the laptops sprung into life.
I haven't tried the other one.
Very strange seeing 600Mbps on a speed test after years of seeing just a 6.
