I have been looking at a lot of all-in-one units, in no particular order:
    • Boss GT-1000 - 38 second looper
    • Fractal AX8 - 4 minute looper
    • Line 6 Helix (or Helix LT) - 1 minute looper (2 minutes at lower quality?!)
    • Mooer GE-200 - 52 second looper
    • Zoom G3n - 80 second looper
For a bit of context, I play a decent amount of solo gigs (mostly Jazz). I usually sing through a tune and comp (looping from the beginning or just after an intro), then solo over the tune. Hence the need for several minutes of looping (4 minutes is the minimum time I would be comfortable with). My current setup is an RC-1 into various amps (Acoustic Image Corus, Quilter Tone Block 201 with a McQuen cabinet using a B&C 8NDL64, and others). This works great, but I would love to shorten setup time for when I am sharing the bill, playing open mics, or at venues with a PA. Hence the need for something that could handle tone and looping.

It seems that the AX8 is the only choice in this arena, but I wanted to bring my dilemma to this wonderful community to see if I am missing any choices.

Does it have any kind of modeling? Seems to just be a looper.

Doesn't the TC Nova have a Looper?

Boss GT (or similar) but put the RC1 or an RC3 (my fave) in the fx loop of the multifx. Only add seconds to setup and you can mix best of both that way.

Digitech Jamman Stereo Looper. Even has an XLR input port. It can play the looped parts into one amp and then your final loop into a different amp which is great for live applications. Has an interchangeable memory card for practically unlimited loop time.

I appreciate the sentiment here, but having it all in one unit is a top priority for me.

I just looked it up and from what I can tell there isn't a Looper function.

    My bad...

No amp modeling, but with the stereo option of running separate amps, it does give you a very advantageous alternative. It also takes pedals very well, but then you need to run the amps clean.

There is a battleship version (my description) of an 8 switch version of the JML2 that has some delay and perhaps other stuff. I forget what it is called, but dirt cheap on fleaBay and someone here swears by it.

Yeah, okay, I'll go check the name.

It is called, the JMD JamMan Delay. Seems to only have delay as an additional effect and they have gone up in price since I last looked. Probably not worth it for your application.

Why not just get you a pedalboard if setup is the problem. Plug into input, output to pa, power into AC. Done.

A reasonable option, but I prefer the all-in-one route.

The EHX Grand Canyon is only a looper though. @dotpc is looking to have one thing that does everything, if I understand correctly.

Headrush or the Mooer GE300 should cover you.

Of course, they do cost a bit more than the others.

The new Flashback II x4 has a 40+ second looper. The four foot switches become live edit functions while in looper mode. Would make a great performance looper. Nice delay too.
