Anyone know where I can get a template for Fender Deluxe Locking tuners? The kind with 2 knobby things on the back side?

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

this is what ya want. but it's way too stupid much for it...

    https://www.stewmac.com/luthier-too...r-tuner-installation/tuner-pin-drill-jig.html

I'm still looking.. it's getting better..

Now this one looking like it may be worth the $$. at 39 euros that's about 45 buz.. but it's actually engineered.. I'll probably buy this one.. but. still looking.. this puppy comes from Europe and works out to about 80 bux when all is said 'n paid for..

and this is the least costly I can find. so when I get out to the shop in a few.. I'll snap a few pix of one I had to make for a non standard key.. hopefully if your're shop savvy you can extrapolate how to make your own..

OK. Getcha a piece of aluminum bar from your local hardware store... ¾ wide and at least 1/8th thick... also pickup a ⅜ OD bronze flange bearing... note, 3/8ths is close enough to 10 mm to work just fine ..

now drill a 10 mm hole somewhere along the bar, centered from edge to edge.... take a tuning key, place it in the hole and using a wooden block, tap the back side so it leaves two small dings in the aluminum. You could place tape on the aluminum to facilitate seeing the two marks.. Now drill them to 3/32 inch diameter .. now ya just place it on the back side of the headstock, using the bearing to locate the mounting hole, drill the two holes to the correct depth for the keys, and have at it... be sure to get them on the correct side of the mounting hole..

Now, buying all that stuff may cost ya what the jig costs from one of the sites I posted, BUT.. you now know how to make one for any non standard keys that you may encounter in the future.. and you may wanna note, there is no standard for keys... Sperzels will not fit Schaller, and neither will take Graphtec Ratios.. I'm sure there's other anomalies out there..

Once ya know how to make the thing.. the different spacing becomes an easily accommodated nuisance..
