Thanks guys. I will check back in with a quick review when it gets here... I can't wait, less shoulder trouble means more practice... and enjoyment.

I put this Ibanez PowerPad GFS50 strap on my Ibanez Artcore AM53.

    THE most comfortable strap ever.
    Padded in construction, really nice.

    AND it matches the guitar.
They make it in other colours (black, red, blue, and green) as well.

    :)

    Great strap, I love it.

    GE Smith.
He was the guitar player you're thinking of.

Fantastic fellow, and a great player.

    :)

Yeah he's the man, hehe, he likes the skinny leather straps.

He can burn the house down with nothing but a guitar and a clean amp for sure.

I'm a big fan of Henry Heller suede straps.

In case you, or someone else, needs a different padded strap, or strap in general, I'll give a shoutout to my favorites:
    Couch Guitar Straps - https://www.couchguitarstraps.com

They have 3" padded straps here: https://www.couchguitarstraps.com/guitar-straps/3-inch-wide-guitar-straps

Repurposed vintage vinyl and upholstery from cars, furniture, luggage, other sources. A variety of styles. A nice change from the flames n' skulls n' police line straps one sees so much (no disrespect to those who like flames n' skulls n' police lines straps).

    Hi.

I have a Levy strap. But mine is a cheaper woven cotton kind of one. I bought it mostly cos I liked the looks, but I also suspected the cotton would be soft and comfortable. Turned out I was right. I am also attracted to some of their other offerings, like the one you ordered.

I notice straps when they look dorky or out of place. Or when they have the player's initials on them.

I have a Levi padded leather strap that's about 3 1/2 inches. I use it on my electrics because it alleviates the neck ache of a 3 hour gig. The are about $40 on sale usually...My grandparents found this one for about $3 used at a rummage sale.

Not sure what brand it is but I use this one along with a few regular Levys straps. It's got single straps on either end with a fat sheepskin lined pad in the middle.

Check out Well-Hung StrapLabs on Reverb, I recently bought one of Brad's creations and I'm very impressed. Quality leather, non-slip backing and generously padded with memory foam, it's far and away THE nicest and most comfortable strap I've owned. Brad is a one-man show so when you buy you'll be dealing directly with him. He also does custom/commission work so if you don't see what you want just ask.

No affiliation, just a happy customer!

Has anyone tried one of these seat belt pads? Looks like a cheap easy way to make a strap more comfortable.
