Never had one in this configuration before....
Beautiful - I've never had a Custom Shop land on my porch before ... Congratulations !
I think I need to get a different porch!
funny thing with these things is that, if you asked me if I want any individual element of what you have there, I would express my own preference for rosewood/brass/lipstick/etc - but then when I see it I am on all fours barking like a dog begging to play it
ENJOY IT FOR ME!
Very nice! Congratulations.
I'll give you the AARP secret handshake!
Piggy Stu, ya know, I feel pretty much the same, more conventional; pickups, controls, and, like you, would rather have rosewood. But when I saw this, just had to have it.
drf64, wondered who would spot the mag first and say something....
If that's a brand spanking new wrhb I want to hear all about it.
Is that a maple cap neck ?
Is it like the ultimate tele custom that never existed?
A late 60’s Maple cap/nitro finish tele custom?
I’m not really into customs but sure would like that one
Tell us it’s under 8 pounds!
Thanks for all the nice comments, guys. To answer of couple of questions that were asked....Fretting out; nope, not a maple cap, just one hunk of maple; yup it is under 8 lbs., my dealer told me it was exactly 7 lbs., and although I don't have a scale, I believe him, it's super light....Thinline casket; sure is the new wrhb in the neck, give me a couple of days and I'll report back....
Lovely relic job! Sometimes it just works out and looks like a trusty old friend, been through the wars with you, once used to beat off a mugger, thrown at an amp or two, used as a surface on which to roll joints/snort coke/write autographs. Congratulations!
Yes- please do tell about the wide range humbucker -let us know if they used 1 meg pots on that bad body too if you know- but mostly enjoy it! that it a beauty!
Do they make them with a loose neck pocket like the originals?
Love a humbucker in the neck position. It opens up a bigger neck/mid position sound. My partscaster is set up with a mini hum in the neck, and a J-bass control panel that gives me volume controls for each pickup, and a universal tone. This opens the mid position to infinite tonal variations via the volume controls. As far as finding that beautiful Tele on your porch, I wonder if I repainted our porch...
Love the 2 volume/2 tone setup!
Whatta beauty. Enjoy.
Nice! Looks like my kinda maple neck with those jumbo frets. Pretty tele, congratulations!
