kinda like how they get the Caramel in the Caramilk bar?
suffice to say sometimes the man behind the curtain likes to stay behind the curtain
This cured me of any interest I had, both in the apology and everything else in life
Dimarzio had a 3 coil model some years back, 90s or early 2000s. It was made up of some of their normal production pups, but I don't remember which ones.
Hamer had a model with a triple coil pickup in the 80’s.
Perhaps DiMarzio made it?
While the pup I saw in a catalog was later, they were supplying Hamer in the 80s, so yeah, quite possible! I don't know the year they switched to Duncan, but I had an 86 Hamer that had the factory loaded Dimarzios.
It's like Ry Cooder meets KIXX
Yes, I put a Chinese Strat blade in the middle position of an Ibanez RG. It worked well there.
There should probably be a picture of this pickup in the dictionary next to the word "gimmick".
Gold foil alone is a gimmick.
Looking at the backside of the pickup it looks like the tops of the coils are just a fake dual rails and a fake goldfoil, and the pickup itself is just a "humbucker" made of two ceramic single coils strapped together in series. Note the green and red wires already wrapped and soldered together.
If somebody buys one be sure to test the DC Res of the two sides and see if it's the same or significantly different.
The Hamer Phantom had a humbucker and a single coil mounted in an oversized pickup ring.
The Kingbees claim that it was their mistake:
Not quite, but you're on the right track. Look at the back picture that is posted on page 1. It's two blade humbuckers mounted side by side. Thus four coils. If you look on the far end, you will see two red jumpers that connect the two blade coils in series.
Hey lay off. Pugs are not ugly. I have 3 pugs.
It would be kinda cool to toy around with.
I think that looks pretty cool.
i actually found one for like 12 bucks and it's enroute
