Woodhaven, Glendale, OZ, Lindenwood, Howard Beach, Broad Channel and Rockaway.

    My turf.

Perhaps I'll take some photos and begin posting them.

I just thought: The houses in Howard Beach at Christmas time are hard to beat.

Spent my first 38 years on the island. A 30 - 40 minute train ride would get you to Penn Station, where you could enter Madison Sq. Garden without going outside. Lots of great places to see music between the island and NYC

My drummer is from Staten Island, IIRC. She has some stories!

Walt Whitman, the father of modern free-verse poetry, was born on Long Island.

I grew up in Staten Island in the early 60's - back then it was like Mayberry RFD. Dirt roads, lived next to a 5 sq mile forest. Very different today. They knocked the house I lived in and built two town homes. Every sq in of that island has been built out.

Born and raised in Amityville, one town away from Lindenhurst.
Made my very first dollar helping a man with a dredging company. I was about 10.
Jones Beach and the Great South Bay are near and dear to my heart.

Author of a number of cook books and host of a show on the Food Network; somewhat equivalent to Martha Stewart (sort of, not exactly), built a brand empire; "the Barefoot Contessa", etc.

I thought the answer to Who's Ina Garten is Chauncey Gardiner. :)

We are actually pumping the sand back on Jones beach right now.
When my grandfather passed away he left me a 1966 Ford Fairlane 500 2door. Black with Red interior. It had the Amityville dealership emblem on the back. My friends called it the Amityville Horror because the movie had just came out. I wish I would have never sold that car!
