I've bought G&L locking tuners from the G&L website.
They are simply Schaller locking tuners, but they are competitively priced, and liked the idea of the G&L logo being there.
That was on my tribute ASAT Special, so had to drill an extra pin hole, which was easy enough.

So I'm in the same situation, looking to replace my stock 12:1 ASAT Classic Fullerton Standard non locking tuners with split post. They are really tight and jerky, making smooth and precise adjustments impossible. So Schallers are drop in replacements? What's the tuning ratio on those? I emailed G&L with the same question, but haven't heard back.

I used the hipshot upgrade kit, six inline. the hole ream is 25/64 or 10mm and no other drilling is needed as the kit inclueds these metal strips that sit between the tuners and the headstock and have tabs that prevent the tuners from moving out of alignment. From what I can make out from your picture the machine head housing is not screwed down to the mounting plate or into the headstock. Is that right? Do you find that they are seated securely, or do they wiggle or wobble?
To get those Graph Tech Ratio locking tuners working on your single-pin G&L ASAT, did you have to cut new pin holes?![]()
I’ve got these on an SC2 I bought used. Best locking tuners I’ve tried. The Schallers G&L sells are good but I love how these vary the tuning ratio for each string.

Thank you.I got it like this already as did the previous owner (someone I know).
Thank you.I would go with the G&L "official" lockers. If they're made by Schaller, they're quality parts and will last forever.
And if you ever go to sell it, they'll add value.
On my partscasters and upgrade builds, I use either Fender "officials" or Sperzels.
Sperzels are a tad lighter and US made.
Linda Lou loves her Sperzels and they make string changes a breeze.

Thank you.I put G&L locking tuners on my option order BB-90 shortly after I received it, and fell in love with them. So much easier to change strings now, and they stay in tune very, very well. I can't recommend them highly enough.
