The local Hawaiian company Servco Pacific has aquired a majority interest in Fender, according to this article. Servco owns all the Toyota/Lexus dealers here in Hawaii, and they used to own Easy Music, the #1 Fender dealer here, where I buy all my Fender and Squier guitars. But, when Servco's founder died, his heirs sold Easy Music. AFAIK, Servco has had a percentage of Fender ever since the Bill Schultz buyout from CBS, and have had a Servco representative on the board of directors of Fender since then.

Looks to be 1 group of asset management guys buying out a 2nd group of asset management guys. Life in the big leagues. It will be interesting to hear the inside story on it from someone in daily operations over at Fender. Without that input it's hard to say what effect if any the change might bring.

    “Like it never even happened...”

    Flood, disaster clean-up ?

What does that have to do with guitars ?

Fender Ukuleles and Hawaiian guitars! Yeah, Koa! Fender Hawaiian shirts...

And I like the fact that it is a US owned company.

The title would be way cooler if it said, "Local Hawaiian Shirt Company......"
