Liverwurst on rye with slice of onion, slice of LINDBERGER cheese (yep, that's right) and mustard.

I only eat it a few times a year.

    But, I like it.

Comrades, it literally has the German word for "worst" in its name!

I like it and used to eat it a fair amount .... but now, with the assumption that the cholesterol and fat content is high, I don't at all, unless my wife happens to get some for a dip/spread.

Me too. Liverwurst is kind of a working man's pate, but definitely scratches the same itch. When I was about 10 years old my grandfather told me I was old enough to eat a "real man's lunch" and we had sandwiches of liverwurst, limburger cheese, raw onion with mustard on rye bread with a glass of beer. I'm seriously getting misty eyed thinking about it!

Just got my annual order of scrapple in since it's hard to find down south. My wife and daughter are so thoroughly disgusted by scrapple that I have to schedule times to cook it when they're not at home. The list of scrapple ingredients is simple -- everything from the rooter to the tooter!

When I read threads like this, my German heritage comes out in full force.

I loved it as a kid. Some Roman Meal bread, Miracle Whip, French's Mustard, and pile on the
Braunschweiger. When it went missing, they always knew who to blame.

One has to find something to stock the fridge with that the teenagers wont wipe out, eh?

German heritage I guess, but I'm all in for any of the above.
Besides, salad every day gots kind of monotonous.

The name and consistency matters to me in much of what I eat..

Things like eggplant...cauliflower...yogurt never make it on my plate.
Anything with liver in its name definitely is a no go

How come you taste so gooood

I loved braunschweiger as a kid... We'd have sandwiches with it. I haven't eaten it in eons, and don't think it would pass my "I don't eat innards" rule. Liver wurst I never really liked as I recall.

That's a good ol' days item at my house. I like liverwurst, but I don't think it likes me any more.

Liverwurst, chopped liver, pate, blutwurst, I'm down for it all! Hard to find good examples of any of them around here though, which may be for the best...

I'm a braunschweiger guy. Just finished off a roll the other day.

No one else in the house eats it but on a rye bread or cracker or toast...it's all good with me.

    Then there's this abomination...

    Devil.jpeg
I'm sure I've had it at some point during my childhood....and I probably liked it....but I have to assume that you'd be better off eating the can than what's inside of it.

The fact that Satan is on the label tells you everything you need to know.
