I only buy it every couple of years because I can't behave myself when it's in my presence.
It used to be a staple in the cold cuts at our house as a kid. Swiss Cheese and liverwurst with miracle whip. Now we have it to give pills to our dog. It's a local product and not cheap.
My mom made me try it as a kid. Brain cheese too.
I get it about once a year too. I would also consider braunschweiger and other wurst.
I like it.
I prefer foie gras
“What am I, chopped liver?”
I have memories of my mom packing Liverwurst and mayo ( yuck!) sandwiches, Fritos, and a Scooter Pie in my lunchbox in grade school!
This may explain why I'm the elite athlete I am today!
I understand why people would say, "Heck no," but I've been a fan since childhood, especially Braunschweiger. Liverwurst tastes a bit bland in comparison, but it's good enough. Beats the hell out of bologna.
liver in any form...nope!
I'd have asked her to make a second sandwich and forget the Scooter pie.
I hate liver in any form - except for liverwurst and Braunschweiger.
I find that odd.
red onion, good bread, good mustard. That’s it.
Soooooo much fat in it already that I find the thought of mayo or miracle whip on it horrifying.
Because people need to eat and times weren't always as peachy as nowadays.
I buy it to gross out my kids.
I love it, with some pepper jelly and other cold cuts/cheese on a sandwich.
I loved it when I had the $0.35 for the school lunch!
* once every few weeks they'd serve 'Flying Saucers':
This was bologna ( round slice that stuck out) and American Cheese on a Hamburger bun! COOL! ( if you are 8)
Pizza on Fridays!
It was the only way we could get our last dog to swallow pills.
Lol, I would rather starve than eat that stuff. Yuck!
That, or braunschweiger, on seeded rye bread with Vadalia onion, Guldens mustard, and dill pickle...what a treat.
Sounds very familiar. Mid, late 1970s?
I like it. My favorite is Kahn’s Braunschweiger.
