Lowell George with his Sears Craftsmen socket wrench slide and his 1970's bullet truss rod Strat gettin' down.

This is my tribute to the late Dr. John. I always wondered if the song was about him.

"Two degrees in Bee Bop, a PhD in Swing, he's a master of rhythm, he's a rock and roll King. "

Huh, I sort of assumed this song was about Rebennack. Thanks for posting.

Actually,if it was about Dr John,it would ruin it for me,since I never thought that.
But I won't mind if it turns out to be true. The Rock n Roll Doctor will always be that dude I created in my mind when I first heard the tune.I'm stuck with it.

Here's a different version live in Holland. The sound isn't so great since it was recorded outdoors and so long ago.
There are some good shots of Lowell's tan suede Dumble ODR head behind him
    Killer sounding amp

I have a glass slide, but I usually end up using a deep well Craftsman 3/4 socket or my steel slide I made from a old diesel starter drive(Shaft). Whatever works best.
A Strat with a Tele Bridge pickup in it is always awesome. Alvin Youngblood Hart uses a Strat like that: White body and guard with Maple neck/board.
