Thought I would post this maybe help a few people out trying to do this mod it's very simple to perform but very good to use.

All it does is add another preset to each of the 3 footswitches so 6 in all, it basically replaces the optional foot pedal but is just on or off very effective the 10k resistor just adds a dummy load so you could still plug in the pedal if you need it.

It takes the LED power from the power jack and any 2 pole switch would probably work I just used a 3PDT as I had one handy.

I've done a few of these now along with a few other mods to these units still a great pedal IMHO.

I would say that the title is a little misleading. It's not really double the presets, it's just an expression pedal in the form of a switch...

Yeah it really is. You've gotta stay within the same delay type :/

It almost seems smarter just to use an ex. pedal, because it let's you have the two settings, and everything in between.

I love my expression pedal on my DL4. Made it myself too in an old wahwah case. It was pretty simple

I must say...I wish I had found that diagram when doing mine. That is about the best drawing to execute that mod that I've seen.

Hey Plucker, Thanks for posting this diagram. I paid $10 off the net for instructions to mod my DL-4 and it hasen't worked right since. It locks up on me, and the power input jack seems to have an intermintent short (Not sure I spelled that right). Your wiring is slightly different than the one I have, so I'm going to try wiring your way. Any ideas as to why the power input jack is shorting out? I resoldered my power lines to it last week, thinking I had a cold solder joint, but it's still acting up. Messes with my tone too.

In my opinion, this is one of the best mods a guy can do in my position. I have an SKB board that's over stuffed with pedals so an expression pedal is out of the question. It takes up alot of realestate on the board, but the 6 preset options, its a no brainer.

Thanks again, Ken

Well it does give you two preset sounds from one switch so in essence it does double the presets but hey no probs I only posted this to try and help anyone who wanted to try it.

If you use the expression pedal and have room for it go for it :D

Hi Ken the socket could be shorting inside the pins can come loose inside the socket might just be worth changing it out for a new one but just check the joints for stray bits of solder shorting out.

Hey Plucker. My DL4 took a dump on me Thursday night at the gig. I didn't realize how much I depended on it. Man, what a long night! Anyway, I took it in to a repair shop, (after picking up a new one), and they're ording a part for it. So now I'll have a backup, and one to leave in the studio. They said it didn't have anything to do with the mod I did, but I used your mod in the new one. Had it done in about an hours time. Works great! Thanks again.

Howdy...does anyone have this drawing/schematic? The image link is broken. I've been looking and looking and looking on the web and haven't been able to find it!

Thanks!
