First time I heard her was when Long, Long, Time was a hit back in '70. Loved her voice, but I was only 8...it wasn't until a few years later that I noticed her, um, other attributes...

Love her voice...and yeah, she was hotter'n a hooker's doorknob on nickel night...:D:D

I had a poster of her similar to this in the Cub Scout uniform.

But I never listened to her much until the Columbia Record Club sent me Simple Dreams (because I didn't sent the little card back)
    Excellent album.

Except maybe with Carly. But that's a whole different story...

She did write ar least one song, Lo Siento Mi Vida.
Her “excuse” for not writing songs at the time was that there were enough mediocre writers.
She had her choice of JD Souther, James Taylor, Lowell George, Henly/Frey and Karla Bonoff songs.
I bet she would have been a great writer, too.
I saw her and her brilliant band in 1980.
I still remember lots of details about that concert.
    Thanks, Linda!

    Be still my heart.

I remember her Stone Poneys days and “Different Drum”. Who knew she would become a mega star a few years later?

My first look at Linda was this"Midnight Special" appearance. I was 15 and she definitely got my attention:
I remember being bummed when she cut her hair though.
What a talent and she always seems so cool in interviews.

Stone Poneys? Man, you're old. (As if I don't remember LR & The Stone PONEYS.)
Never liked California Governor Jerry Brown! (Lucky mug!)

And don’t forget Warren Zevon - the GREATEST LA songwriter, period. (Sorry Jackson!)

How good was she? Well, at a George Jones show in the early 80's (in New York City) once George was aware she was in the audience, he invited her to the stage to sing. In the recording below you will hear, in his own words, the admiration he had for her. She did an old Hank Williams tune call "I Can't Help It (if I'm still in love with you).

I've always thought her "tumblin' dice" was an excellent choice for her. she kicked it's arse, in my opinion.

Thats the one I had above my bed when I was young. She had my attention at an early age, and once I realised about such things, her attributes outside of singing firmly had my attention! I was in lust...erm love!

She didn't sound too bad either. Childhood memories of my Mom's 8-track of this record, which was on heavy rotation in the house for many years. Great song. Great vocal. Great band. Great, great album.

"Willin" was more where my lifestyle was when I first started hearing her...I'd have gone anywhere with her.

I never heard a guy ever say about her..."No...she's not my type."

I'm not good at remembering details, but I believe she encouraged her band to go out on their own, and they became the Eagles. That shows she was a real class act, and a very secure person.
