I bet that thing will be beautiful when it’s done.
Here’s my J15 all North American wood Walnut back and sides. Love the clarity of tone I get with this guitar.

I do love the look of that walnut. I think I am going to build two identical guitars, one 12 fret, one 14 fret. Both short scale.

The BEST guitar I ever played was an Alvarez Yairi OOO, all walnut back and sides and an early lutz top (which were initially downgraded because of the bear claw in the figure 😳). Even though used and price dropped I still couldn't afford it. Everyone who came in the music store stood in line to play it. I even wrote a song for a guy, on THAT guitar right there in the store 😳🙃😳. Not many guitars ever touch you like that and when a lady came in and bought it for her son she did so because she ALWAYS saw people playing it so knew it was special. She also got to have every woman's dream,,,, to see grown men cry 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Some more wood shots. The top all glued together and the sides pre-cut and sanded. Then a shot of two more sets of sides I resawed a couple of days ago.

The Burl walnut piece of wood I am trying to save and turn into a back. It has a small crack on one side in the Burl. My hope is to resaw enough off to eliminate the crack. That is a pic with some DA rubbed on it.

Well…that was an effort in futility. I had the Burl resaw almost done and noticed a little split on one end. I gave it a little tug and pop, it split wide open. Burn pike for that one. Maybe I can use some parts of it. So, plan B is a 3 piece back since I currently do not have a piece wide enough for a two piece. Then my mind started wandering…that usually means trouble. I thought about making the middle piece out of something different. I tried curly maple…meh, been using it a lot lately. Hrrrmm, then I remembered that I had some nicely figured sycamore in my stash. I think this is it. This is all very rough cut, so you can’t see the figure well, but I think it will look good once I mill it down a bit. I may make a piece out of maple just in case. I know this will make @crazydave911 tummy feel all warm. He does love sycamore. Lol
