I have always loved the blues. Buddy Guy on my list to see if I get the chance. Lots of great blues artists many mostly gone, or long gone; SRV, Howling Wolf, Muddy Waters, Willie Dixon, Freddie King, Albert King, BB, then going back farther of course Robert Johnson and his contemporaries for the Mississippi Delta. So much blues so little time.

Haven’t heard any contemporary Blues that impressed me. Like Country, I’d much prefer the classics: Muddy, Hank Williams, Howlin’ Wolf, Johnny Cash, Robert Johnson, Waylon, Hound Dog Taylor, etc. The new stuff just strikes me as a retread of better days gone by.

Most, if not all, genres are predictable and repetitive. The Blues has impacted Rock, Country, R & B, Pop, and so on and so on.

Where would Clapton, Page, Hendrix, Beck, and countless others be without the Blues.

I love the Blues as much for what it's not as I do for what it is.
