Some of you might remember my story about the UK customs having a bad day and taking it out on my new CS Tele with a drill and axe. So after all the hassle i decided to have a go building one myself. Never done a solid body before so am open to the critics on here. Please don't shout as ive got a headache from the varnish fumes on my mark two Tele am building. This time in old English white.
I picked the body and neck for feel not to a certain year. If it felt nice i bought it but tried to keep to the classic Tele style. Had the body sprayed at my local garage in Volvo gold with a bit more glitter then lacquered. Fitted a pair of SD 54 Broadcaster pickups, 250k CTS pot, Oak switch. Fitted a vintage style bridge with brass compensator's. Waxed cloth wiring all fitted with a maple neck. Had the walnut truss removed and a maple piece inserted and blended in as i wanted a one colour neck. Had it re varnished with the logo of my choice. Not sure witch year this relates too, just liked it. Bleached bone nut. Sorry about the crappy pic's ive only got a iphone

The shop has their lawyers talking to the customs and revenue legal department. Me i was just happy to get all my money back. I did offer to buy the guitar off them at a greatly reduced price by their said they have to keep it for proof and claim

Love your build.. I've been bit by the gold bug lately too. Glad to see you haven't let the customs incident keep you from your FCS dream guitar. Are you going with the original specs or something different?

I might have a slight colour change but am sticking with the Barden's pick up's etc. One thing i wont be having is the ash tray. It not only gets in the way but i don't like the tone changes with it fitted

Whiskey and Teles go together like beer and skittles.
