Just knowing that TDPRI is out there during my work day makes my life better! Plus, a posting by a member made me aware of a local music hangout and got me off my ass to start playin out again after many years! (That's you, Fret)

I like to goof around as much as the next guy but I don't miss the high frequency narcissistic type posters who are overly performative and noisy. Fewer forumcatnip types the better. I found the last long painful forum suicide really gross, bothersome and hard to ignore.

I do wonder about folks like Kevin Bolinsky, and Maestrovert and other who were very active several years back.

My hat's off to you guys, even when I'm the one getting in trouble for posting something. Seriously, you handle what is often a thankless job very well as far as I'm concerned. And I'm speaking as a moderator on a writing community, if I've never said it before, I'll say it now. Thanks for the work you do around here.

I'm just the opposite. Hanging out here inspires me to practice and push what little skills I have. I have a bad tendency to get lazy about it, especially now that I'm not playing with a band anymore. I suspect when I quit hanging out here it will be because I've put down the guitar and quit thinking about it anymore. I go through stretches like that.

Chet was a forum member who got to 10k posts, mainly by posting a lot of attention searching drivel in Bad Dog. Then apparently he asked to be banned.

I know he wasn't banned, but something tells me TDPRI lost its sparkle, to him atleast.

I'm suspended from TGP until November. You'd think it would be harder to get suspended on TGP since the discussions tend to be more freewheeling, but you can be suspended there for "trolling" and the definition of trolling is pretty flexible.

Nope... had my right ankle reconstructed on Thursday last week. No new injury... just wear and tear.

I am hopefully close to retirement and wonder if I will be as involved once I'm away from a computer 8-12 hours a day. For now TDPRI is my coffee break or a moment away from other computer tasks. I check it in the morning and late at night at home when I review my e-mails. If I'm practicing or playing with gear I will sometimes search for answers or help, so I guess I'll be hanging around for a while. Lot of good and caring people here and much easier to communicate with than the penpals of my youth. Who would have thought that one day I could exchange mindless chatter with people from such strange places as New Jersey, Wisconsin and Australia? Oh and Austin too.

We accept your trolling. Plus TGP is a last ditch effort sort of place for me. To much discussion of gear I have no interest in.

Yes, there is a definite showoff factor with gear there, and I really like the build threads in the TDPRI.
