I think I great pair of shoes can save almost any outfit. E.g. cargo shorts and a bumched shrit.
I like the Wingtips! My Dad was of the opinion that a Man was not truly "Dressed Up" unless he had on Wingtip Shoes!

Like those also. My morn workoutsThe ones in the picture 'way down below are more or less prescription "tennis shoes," as I call them.
My left foot was hurting, so I asked a friend of mine who has had plantar fasciitis what her symptoms were, and they were identical to mine.
I saw a podiatrist in January. He didn't say it was plantar fasciitis, and did not prescribe any medicine. Along with stretching exercises, he suggested several shoe stores to visit for something with "motion control" and strongly recommended the Brooks Beast shoes.
The first place I went didn't have the Brooks shoes but I got something the salesman did recommend. I tried on several pair and got the ones that didn't hurt me feet. Only thing is, my wife says I walk funny in them. There weren't any local places with Brooks shoes.
So, when my wife and I were across the lake last week, we went to Dick's Sporting Goods and found a pair of Brooks Beast shoes, so I bought them. I walk normally in them.
As far as foot pain goes, I came down with bronchitis several days after seeing the podiatrist. The foot was still hurting. The doctor I saw for the bronchitis recommended several medicines, one of which was an anti-inflammatory med.
After taking the anti-inflammatory med for the bronchitis, my foot quit hurting. The bronchitis took a long time to go away, but my foot feels much better now and is painless.
Here are the Brooks Beast shoes:

When a suit and lots of time on my feet were work uniform I loved some Allen Edmunds classics. First for the fit options but wow the comfort is unbeatable when all the leather and cork are formed and broken in.Technically I believe these are Oxford captoes (the straight line across toe area vs a "w" looking design). But I can't argue with your dad's sentiments!
ECCOs are generous in my experience. How is the toe box room in those??
Amigo needs a bigger hat!

I have both a new pair and an old pair. I've not heard about that design change that but now that you mention it my old pair of Ecco's are more comfortable than the new ones. I thought it was due to break-in time. Not knowing if you feet are fat like mine, this is less helpful than I had hoped.
I read in review they changed the back of the tongue at a point to the detriment of comfort. Are yours newer one or earlier before that?
Thanks
George Burns once said that there were two things he would have done differently if he had known he was going to live so long...take better care of his teeth and wear comfortable shoes.I few years ago I had a job with a suit, and I learned about how good shoes are made. I learned about different types of leather, goodyear welt, and why certain shoes cost hundreds of dollars for a pair.
I bought a pair of leather dress shoes by Spanish brand Meermin, and I've worn them hundreds of times since I bought them in 2016. They went to the cobblers once to have some rubber and a toe cap added to the leather sole, but otherwise have needed nothing except the odd polish and fresh laces. Cleaned up, they still look and feel almost new. In retrospect, the about 200$ I spent them has saved me a lot of money.
In conclusion, good shoes are worth investing in in my opinion.
Thanks for this….I just ordered a pair for my old tired feet.Yes!
