I don't do watches. Waste of time.
You forgot to mention the money. Watches (WAS) are totally as bad as GAS once started. I can't hear the tone or infer your actually meaning (sarcasm, trolling, messin around, or whatever) but, personally I hate to see time passing, but I love a little expertly made machine on my wrist (just look at that Explorer a few posts back, is it possible not not admire what is going on in there?)

BTW, I sometimes grab an automatic, that has been sitting and wound down, rush out the door and forget to ever set it and still enjoy it all day :)

I am a nut case though. I also have a PRS but am not a great player.

Have we ever seen you and John Mayer in the same room? Hmmm.... ;)

By the way, watches make great gifts. I get a daily email (or 3) from a watch site. One day a Timex came up at a give-away price. It had a bright multi-color band and my parents are "sensible" types so I knew the brand would be well received. I ordered it for my mom on a lark. My mom loved it--it wasn't her birthday or anything of that sort, it was just my way of saying "I love you".

View attachment 877059 Picked up new in '69, recently found that it's a bit rare as Seikos go... needs a cleaning/service and I'll be wearing it again.

That's a cool old Sieko! If you want to fix the scratches on your crystal, you can squeeze a little toothpaste on the crystal and polish it with your fingers! I like to hold the watch flat on a few of my fingers, and use my thumb to polish the crystal. It works very well! Then I run it under some water and scrub it lightly with an old toothbrush, to remove the toothpaste.

Here is the bulk of my watch collection. You'll notice some brand loyalty! I will say that I have a bigger watch collecting habit than I do guitars. View attachment 878907 View attachment 878908 View attachment 878909 View attachment 878910 View attachment 878911

That is quite a collection, and topped off with a Submariner!!!

I have not seen Resco before but they look nice. The orange faced one especially. Those look very Zodiac like in a way.

I have seen folks on here with as many guitars though, so there is still hope for you to balance that collecting habit out :)

I only wear watches on the weekend because I'm a machinist, so most of my swiss purchases are dial indicators and calipers. But I am interested in getting a 60s timex for when I want to dress up like a grown-up. I think I can do that without getting too into something that will eat up motorcycle and guitar money.

Watches kick off my carpal tunnel, so I don't wear one. Pretty sure there's a Casio lurking in my sock drawer. Shall I post a pic of my sock drawer?

I was watching the British Open and they had a commercial for Rolex. I thought a Rolex would be nice. I like the President or a Sports version. Then I thought but you don’t wear a watch and don’t like them. So I don’t think that will happen. Hey, I have this expensive trinket in a drawer.

I never thought I would stop wearing a watch but I have. Needed to replace a band and didnt for one week and then another and now I just keep my phone handy---it now only tells me the time, it has a stopwatch and a timer and a metronome. Maybe I'll get a pocket watch---I'm retired now and kinda always wanted a pocket watch, though I have no real need for one.
I used to carry a pocket watch. I have never really worn a watch. I now just use my phone.

Thanks! That Submariner is a 14060 "no-date" Submariner, with no date window or cyclops magnification. Pretty neat watch. I don't wear it much any more, but it's a neat piece that I mostly keep for it's investment value. I have about half as many guitars as watches, so definitely room to grow on that front!
