I made these leather straps and the leather pickguard, I also built both guitars.

Bought a piece of Leather from Tandy in Yeovil, and knocked one up.
Here`s basic shape and design I started with , just drew it on and then stamped it out in relief.

I then Dyed the design and name red and dyed rest black.
first attempt, at something like this, but I got a strap that will last me the rest of my playing career at least.

I made it from a belt that was given as a gag gift from my father-in-law.

Just buy the leather vintage spaghetti straps in natural and dye them to match the color of your guitar.

Cheap, they look cool, and they match your guitar:

A friend of mine runs a shoe and saddle business. I had him make this one for me.

    I made this one,

recently I'm making reversible combo ones, leather one side, fabric the other.

I make 'em out of re-purposed leather coats and whatever is cool I can source at goodwill stores. They are 3" wide, padded with memory foam.

I've got another leather strap somewhere in the guitar cave, made with a leather ammo bandoleer that I got for a buck at a garage sale. I'll dig it out for a pic next time I go spelunking back there.

What's the static like with that pickguard? I guess it can't be all that bad..?

none at all. You could de-static it if it was an issue with one of those dryer sheets.
I put aluminum sticky tape on the backside. There's a hidden p-90 under the hair in the neck position. wired 4-way - sounds great.

Here be a couple of mine; first one store bought, second one I made myself one day when suffering with terminal boredom. I've made several since then: sent two to my pickin' buddy John Short in Perth, Western Australia. These are the only pics I have, tho.

I have a couple of Italia Straps. Very comfortable, nice looking and durable. If you sign up for their newsletter, they frequently have 2 for 1 sales.
